A new PIAPARA LiveCD is comming!

Hello people!

I'm working on the new PIAPARA LiveCD. First, I just updated the PIAPARA LiveCD Generator to a desktop application:

Second, I'll add to this application modeline calculations and framebuffer driver selection. These two options will decrease the boot time!

This looks awesome! Thie installer should make installation even easier for people that are scared by a white-text-black-background DOS console.

In the meantime I still cannot seem to get the Piapara CD running with popular on-board graphics from Nvidia. I tested two differend ones of these:
Chipset: nForce 630a
Northbridge: MCP61P/MCP68
GPU: GeForce 7050
It is also referred to as C86PV or NV44.

Multisync CRT, all mastering options to "1" except architecture (Athlon). I get LILO, some flickering, a black screen, and finally a shutdown.

Hello Linulo.

I tested the latest PIAPARA LiveCD with an asus motherboard with the geforce 6150 onboard videocard and works great.

I always use high pixel lock with modern nvidia cards. Also, you can try with framebuffer driver first for better compatibility.

I don't know the best video formula, but with the new options available at v0.133a you can try some configurations and see if you get a result.

Thanks for your comment!

In retrospect, my bug report wasn't very substential :(. I will try to do much better next time. I think I tried all possible combinations of options but I am going to try again and make sure I test FB (in contrast to directfb).

I also tried to get it running with GeForce 7300 GS card and used a VGA-to-Scart cable to connect the computer to a 50Hz PAL TV. I used the option "15.625kHz PAL (European Television)" and the frontend came up nicely with DirectFB (even accelerated), but when starting SDLMAME, the timings were different so the TV could not sync. Funny thing: I did not have this problem with framebuffer, only with directfb.
